Sponsorship Needed!

Chris is in desperate need for sponsorship at the moment having just sent his best engine away for service and also writing off his grasstrack bike from Sunday due to shedding a chain.

As Chris has only one Grasstrack bike he currently can't ride and will be missing the British U21 Grasstrack Championship this Sunday due to lack on machinery.

If anyone would be able to help out no matter how big or small please email CJ Racing using the link below:

Isle of Wight v Stoke

Chris lined up for the Islanders on Tuesday to face Stoke although he wasn't 100% fit as the team couldn't get in a replacement at short notice.

Chris made a good start in heat 2 and was following his team mate until Bargh ran out of fuel on the 3rd lap. Chris held on to win the race but this was to be his last ride of the night. Chris had to withdraw as he had blurred vision and a headache from the concussion received Sunday.

He said "I was riding round and my vision was blurry, I was just trying to stay at a steady speed and hold to win the race for the team. I came in the pits and my headache became worse and my vision wasn't very good so i had to withdraw from the meeting."

Jim Coles Grasstrack Meeting - Wimbourne

Chris went to Wimbourne on Sunday to ride in his first Grasstack meeting this year but didn't make it past practice. Chris shed a chain in his 1st practice going into the 1st bend as the chain guide caught on the ground and moved taking the chain with it.

In the second practice Chris did the same thing but the chain jammed the rear wheel sending Chris over the handle bars and onto the ground head 1st. Chris suffered Concussion as was ruled out of the meeting. It is now unsure whether Chris will ride this coming week.

Isle of Wight v Kings Lynn

This cracker of a meeting was shown across the UK live on Sky Sports and was a great advert for Premier League Speedway. The Islanders took an early lead but Kings Lynn put in a big effort and clawed their way back into the meeting and managed to clinch the win. It was an eventful meeting with thrills and spills including Chris Holder hitting the boards at full speed causing him to withdraw from the meeting. The helped the Kings Lynn team as well as Polish rider Stojanowski having an off night and Gathercole getting a puncture while in third.

Chris had a mixed night starting off well but tailing off. This was mainly due to his slow engine. Chris said "The engine i used is the same one as the week before but it needs to go for a service and felt slow all night. I swapped bikes for my last ride but didn't have time to change any settings on it but was still a better ride."

Isle of Wight v Newport

The Wasps were the visitors to the Island this week in what on paper looked a pretty good meeting. However the Wasps were totally outclassed by the Islanders with every rider gaining double figure scores.

Chris had a great meeting getting 10+1 from four rides. Chris was in good form and looked the quickest he has looked all season around the Smallbrook Stadium. He was gating well and seemed high on confidence and beat some good riders during the meeting.

Chris said "Everything went well against Newport, I changed my clutch set up and it was working much better than before. Its a shame i messed up the first turn in heat 4 as i could have got a max but that's just racing. It has boosted my confidence and I'm looking forward to the sky cameras next week."

Johno in Poland

Chris became a Mechanic for the weekend when he was asked by Islanders team mate Cory Gathercole to Mechanic for him in the World Junior Team Cup Semi Final for Austrailia in Poznan, Poland. The Australian team came third in the event with Poland Winning and Denmark second.

Isle of Wight v Berwick

The Islanders took on Berwick last Tuesday in their Premier League fixture. The Islanders were dominant throughout and looked worthy winners.

Chris had a ok night considering the bad luck which has plagued him the last few weeks.

In Heat 2 Chris made a good start along side Meldrum but Meldrum pulled in front going into the second turn but then locked up allowing Chris, team mate Bargh and also opposition rider Compton to go passed. On the next lap Compton came down going into turn 1 and Meldrum had no where to go but into the back of him.

In the re-run the Islanders pairing shot away and won the race comfortably.

In Heat 4 Chris didn't make the best of starts and was in third. He spent the whole race challenging for second but couldn't find a way past.

In Heat 8 Chris made a pretty good start but got a nudge from John Branney. This sent Chris towards the outside which would have been ok but team mate Gathercole was coming across from gate 4 to the inside. Chris had to turn hard to avoid collecting his team mate and this caused him to fall. The referee harshly excluded Chris even though it was a 1st turn incident involving more than one rider.

In Chris' last ride he made a poor start and was left trailing at the back. He tried everything to pass Benji Compton and finally pulled it off on the last lap on turn 2 giving Chris a third place.
